abstract | To provide an adsorbent for oral administration that reduces chronic kidney disease and cardiovascular disease caused by indoxyl sulfate, a therapeutic agent for chronic kidney disease, and a therapeutic agent for cardiovascular complications. According to the present invention, an adsorbent for oral administration containing paramylon is provided. In the adsorbent for oral administration, the hydroxyl group of the paramylon may be substituted with glycidol. According to one embodiment of the present invention, there is provided a therapeutic agent for chronic kidney disease and a therapeutic agent for cardiovascular complications comprising the aforementioned adsorbent for oral administration. The therapeutic agent for chronic kidney disease and the therapeutic agent for cardiovascular complications may further contain oligosaccharide, and may further contain lactic acid bacteria and / or butyric acid bacteria.
