abstract | [PROBLEMS] To provide an aqueous solution with excellent viscosity stability, excellent in water resistance not only with cold water, but also with hot or hot water, and highly transparent even when formed into a film by drying at a relatively low temperature such as around room temperature. It aims at providing a water resistant composition. The present invention includes a vinyl alcohol polymer (A) and metal oxide particles (B) having a coordination number of 6 or more, and the oxide particles (B) have an average dispersed particle size. It is a water-resistant composition having a mass ratio (A / B) of 30/70 or more and 90/10 or less with respect to the oxide particles (B) of the vinyl alcohol polymer (A) of 50 nm or less.
