titleOfInvention 5-Chloro-4-hydroxy-1-methyl-2-oxo-N-phenyl-1,2-dihydroquinoline-3-carboxamide, its salts and uses thereof
abstract DELAQ (desethyl laquinimod; 5-chloro-4-hydroxy-1-methyl-2-oxo-N) is an undesired synthetic byproduct of laquinimod synthesis used in the treatment of multiple sclerosis (MS) -Plaqui-1,2-dihydroquinoline-3-carboxamide) A laquinimod preparation with a minimized amount and a method for producing the same. An instrument determines the total amount of DELAQ in a sample of a laquinimod batch; and determines that the sample of the batch contains less than 0.1% by weight of DELAQ relative to the total weight of laquinimod and DELAQ. A method of manufacture comprising authorizing the batch for distribution only if it is done, and a pharmaceutical composition using the batch. [Selection figure] None
