abstract |
A system and method that can be carried by a cart or a person to perform an endoscopic procedure. A portable display device, such as a laptop personal computer, is coupled to a handle with a micro camera and a fiber optic illumination subsystem. A sterile disposable part is mounted on the illumination subsystem and inserted into the target area of the patient. During the endoscopic procedure, an image of the target area is sent from the camera to the display device, thereby facilitating real-time diagnosis during the procedure. [Selection] Figure 1 |
