titleOfInvention | Electron capture detector and gas chromatograph equipped with the same |
abstract | In an ECD detector, not only contamination of a collector electrode but also contamination of a radiation source is suppressed. A radiation source containing a radioisotope is disposed on an inner wall of a side surface of a cell chamber, and a collector electrode is disposed on the top side of the cell chamber with its tip exposed in the cell chamber, and at the bottom of the cell chamber. It is an ECD detector in which a sample gas introduction port for allowing makeup gas and gas from the separation column to flow into the cell chamber is arranged. The ECD detector further includes a purge gas introduction part that allows purge gas to flow into the cell chamber along the collector electrode, and a gas discharge part that has an opening outside the sample gas introduction port.
