abstract |
An apparatus for detecting an analyte in a tissue is provided. A sensing portion that (1) receives an excitation signal dispersed through tissue and (2) produces a luminescent signal in the presence of an analyte in response to receiving the excitation signal. A sensing portion; and a tissue collecting scaffold 15 comprising the sensing portion. The tissue accumulation scaffold may lack electronic equipment. The scaffold defines a plurality of interconnected pores so that the capillaries can grow directly into the tissue accumulation scaffold in close proximity to the sensing portion.
