abstract |
Provided is a liquid concentrator that functions to cost-effectively concentrate a wastewater stream having a wide range of properties. A gas inlet, a gas outlet, and a flow passage connecting the gas inlet and the gas outlet are provided. The flow passage 24 includes a narrow portion 26 that accelerates the gas passing through the flow passage 24. Liquid is injected from the liquid inlet 30 into the gas stream at a point in front of the narrow portion 26, the gas liquid mixture is sufficiently mixed in the flow passage 24, and a part of the liquid evaporates. The mixed liquid droplets are removed from the gas stream by a demister 34 or a fluid scrubber provided downstream of the narrow portion 26, and the removed liquid is recirculated to the liquid inlet 30 through the recirculation circuit 42. New liquid to be concentrated is also introduced into the recirculation circuit 42 at a rate sufficient to offset the amount of liquid that evaporates in the flow passage 24. [Selection] Figure 1 |
