Methods and compositions for treating and preventing Shiga toxin-producing Escherichia coli infection |
abstract |
The present invention induces an immune response in mammals against enterohemorrhagic Escherichia coli such as O157 and O103 and Shiga toxin-producing Escherichia coli (STEC), which is also referred to as verotoxigenic Escherichia coli, and particularly treats and prevents STEC diseases and STEC colonization in mammals. Compositions and methods for doing 1 is used for the purpose of reducing STEC colonization in ruminants and other mammals in order to treat and prevent STEC diseases and to reduce the occurrence of health problems associated with STEC-contaminated meat and water. A multi-epitope fusion protein comprising more than one epitope of an immunogenic STEC protein from more than STEC serotypes. [Selection figure] None |
