The present invention provides a resin material that uses renewable resources and has the same physical properties, manufacturing, processing suitability, and recycling suitability as petroleum-derived polyethylene terephthalate (PET). About 25 to about 75 weight percent of a terephthalate component selected from terephthalic acid, dimethyl terephthalate, isophthalic acid or combinations thereof, and a diol component selected from ethylene glycol, cyclohexanedimethanol or combinations thereof. A biobased PET polymer comprising about 20 to about 50 wt%, wherein at least 1 wt% of at least one of the terephthalate component and / or the diol component is derived from at least one biobase component polymer.
