[PROBLEMS] To provide a polyurethane for synthetic leather excellent in the balance of physical properties of flexibility, chemical resistance, low temperature characteristics, heat resistance, and touch. A polyurethane for synthetic leather obtained by reacting (a) a compound containing two or more isocyanate groups in one molecule, (b) a chain extender and (c) a polycarbonate diol. (C) The polycarbonate diol has a hydroxyl value of 20 mg-KOH / g or more and 45 mg-KOH / g or less, a glass transition temperature measured by a differential operation calorimeter of −30 ° C. or less, and hydrolysis of the polycarbonate diol.
