The present invention provides an antibody against tetraspanin 8 protein, which is useful for treatment and diagnosis of cancer and the like and whose overexpression is found in cancer. A monoclonal antibody against the extracellular domain of tetraspanin 8 produced by hybridoma cell line BT-43, ATCC accession number PTA-121023. Furthermore, a kit for separating and purifying an exosome derived from a cell such as cancer containing tetraspanin 8 comprising the above monoclonal antibody as a constituent element.
