abstract | The present invention provides a production method capable of obtaining a dicarboxylic acid monoester in a high yield. A method for producing a dicarboxylic acid monoester comprising the following steps (1) to (4). Step (1): An acid in an amount less than the molar equivalent of the dicarboxylic acid diester is added to a solution in which the dicarboxylic acid diester is dissolved in a solvent, and the ester bond of the dicarboxylic acid diester is decomposed to convert the dicarboxylic acid monoester.
