The present disclosure is directed, in part, to absorbent articles that include an absorbent core that encapsulates an absorbent material that includes a superabsorbent polymer. The absorbent core includes a first channel and a second channel, both substantially free of superabsorbent polymer and at least partially oriented in the longitudinal direction of the article. The first and second channels each have a lateral width taken parallel to the lateral axis. The absorbent core includes a pocket that is substantially free of absorbent polymer and has a portion on the longitudinal axis of the article. The pocket has a lateral width taken parallel to the lateral axis. The total profile of the lateral width of the first and second channels and the lateral width of the pocket over a longitudinal length of 50 mm taken along the longitudinal axis is two separate, substantially constant Has a part. |
