abstract |
A steel reinforced cable in concrete is injected with carrier fluid and corrosion inhibitor into the interstitial space between the cable wires in a first position along the cable, and the fluid is passed between the cable wires. Passing through the interstitial space and passing along the cable to the second position protects against corrosion. The cable includes an array of wires that are confined together and closely surrounded by a coating material that engages the periphery of the cable, so that it allows the passage of vertical fluid along the cable outside the cable itself Insufficient interconnected space exists between the cable and the coating material.
