titleOfInvention | Thermally conductive metal-based bandage with hydrogel substrate |
abstract | The present invention is a group of medical supplies that are efficient for use in the treatment of various tissue burns, such as burns from heat, chemicals or sun exposure. The bandage of the present invention is composed of a thin metal substrate combined with a heat sink. The bandage of the present invention comprises a metal substrate (such as aluminum) having a burn facing side for direct contact with the burn to draw heat from the burn by conduction, and a hydrogel for drawing heat away from the metal layer by conduction. Incorporate the heat sink facing side opposite the burn facing side for contact. The thin aluminum layer and associated hydrogel heat sink ensure flexibility and efficient heat transfer characteristics for rapid cooling of the burn wound. |
