abstract |
Effective aqueous dispersions for forming films include aqueous dispersions dispersed in an aqueous phase. The silicone composition comprises a reaction product of (a) an alkenyl-containing organopolysiloxane having an average of at least 2 alkenyl groups per molecule and (b) an SiH-containing siloxane having an average of at least 2 SiH moieties per molecule. Including. The dispersion also includes a hydrosilylation catalyst and polyvinyl alcohol. The composition is stabilized in the form of a dispersion by polyvinyl alcohol dissolved in the aqueous phase. Dispersions are an effective method of delivering pharmaceutically or cosmetically active ingredients by topical application. |
