Sequencing of nucleic acid molecules with high accuracy (eg, greater than 97% in a single pass) using a chip containing an array of independently arranged nanopore sensors at a density of at least about 500 per mm 2 can do. Each nanopore sensor can include a nanopore in a membrane adjacent to or near the sensing electrode.
