Use of contact lenses in the treatment of ophthalmic conditions |
abstract |
The method according to the present disclosure involves determining a radius of curvature at the flattest corneal meridian of the eye and a sagittal depth of the cornea of the eye based on a technique for measuring the local structure of the cornea. The method may also involve selecting a contact lens having a visual zone with a curvature that varies from about 2.0 diopters to about 6.0 diopters from the curvature at the flattest corneal meridian of the eye. The visual zone of the contact lens may have a radius of curvature equal to the sagittal depth of the cornea plus a distance of about 0.05 mm to about 0.25 mm. |
