The present invention provides a syringe for use in ophthalmic injection. The syringe includes a main body, a stopper, and a plunger. The body includes an outlet at an outlet end, and the stopper is disposed within the body such that a front surface of the stopper and the body define a variable volume chamber, and from the variable volume chamber through the outlet. The fluid can be pushed out. The plunger includes a plunger contact surface at a first end, and a rod extends between the plunger contact surface and the rear portion. The plunger contact surface is configured to contact the stopper but not couple to the stopper, thus using the plunger to push the stopper toward the outlet end of the body to reduce the volume of the variable volume chamber However, the plunger cannot be used to move the stopper away from the outlet end. |
