abstract | A system for separating a plurality of preselected cell types from a fluid sample containing a plurality of cell types includes a cell capture fluid chip and, in operation, receiving the cell capture fluid chip and substantially substituting the cell capture fluid chip. And a tip holder configured to be maintained by a liquid tight seal. The chip holder is configured to further release the cell capture fluid chip to be removed from the chip holder for further processing. The cell capture fluid chip includes a substrate, a laser microdissection film disposed on the substrate, and a channel defining layer disposed on the laser microdissection film. The laser microdissection membrane has a surface configured to preferentially capture a plurality of preselected cell types over a plurality of other cell types. The channel defining layer can be removed from the laser microdissection membrane for further processing of the cell capture fluid chip. |
