Method for determining affinity and receptor usage of viruses, especially HIV, in body samples taken from the circulation |
abstract |
The present invention relates to the use of viral co-receptors, particularly microarrays, primer sets, and methods for determining whether HIV uses CXCR4 or CCR5 as co-receptors. The methods and compositions of the present invention are based on microRNA analysis. The present invention can be used to determine viral affinity in any species or organism (specifically, a human) that expresses microRNA. |
