abstract | HARQ parameters (eg, maximum HARQ retransmission value) can be adapted. Cross layer control and / or logical channel control may be used to select the maximum number of HARQ retransmissions based on, for example, packet priority and / or QCI values. Each priority of the video packet may be used to select one of a plurality of logical channels associated with the video application that may be established at the source wireless hop and / or the destination wireless hop. Those logical channels have different HARQ characteristics. Various maximum HARQ retransmission values for a selected logical channel can be determined, for example, so that packets of different priorities can be transmitted over different logical channels. One or more of those channels may be associated with one or more transmit queues that may have different priority designations. Video packets can be rearranged in the transmission queue (eg, with respect to transmission order), for example, depending on respective HARQ parameters. |
