abstract | Various aspects of the present invention are generally directed to systems and methods for imaging with high spatial and / or temporal resolution. In one aspect, the present invention is generally directed to an optical microscope system and related methods adapted to the high spatial and temporal resolution of dynamic processes. The system can be used in conjunction with fluorescence imaging, where fluorescence can be mediated by voltage indicator proteins. In some cases, temporal resolution can be enhanced by fitting a predefined time waveform to the signal value received from the image. The system may also include a high numerical aperture objective lens and a zoom lens located in the imaging optical path to the region of interest. Other aspects of the present invention are generally directed to techniques for making or using such systems, such systems, manufactured storage devices capable of performing such systems or methods, and the like. |
