A main object of the present invention is to provide a thermosetting composition having photo-alignment property capable of forming an alignment layer having excellent adhesion to a liquid crystal layer. The present invention provides a photo-orientable thermosetting composition comprising a photo-alignable polymer having a photo-alignable group and a heat-crosslinkable polymer having a heat-crosslinkable group.
