Provided is a method for producing a target protein by introducing DNA encoding the target protein into a mammalian cell. A protein expression vector containing a transposon sequence at both ends of a gene fragment containing a DNA encoding a target protein and a selectable marker gene is introduced into a floating mammalian cell and inserted between a pair of transposon sequences. A method for producing a target protein by incorporating a gene fragment into a chromosome of the mammalian cell to obtain a mammalian cell that expresses the target protein, and subjecting the mammalian cell to suspension culture.
