abstract | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a dithienobenzodithiophene derivative which is an organic semiconductor material which gives a high carrier mobility in a short process and a high yield using easily available raw materials. A method for producing a dithienobenzodithiophene derivative characterized by passing through at least the following steps (A) to (D). Step (A): 1,4-bis (2-substituted) by reaction of a 2-substituted-5-thienyl metal derivative with 1,2,4,5-tetrahalobenzene in the presence of a palladium catalyst and / or a nickel catalyst. -5-thienyl) -2,5-dihalobenzene production step. Step (B); 1,4-bis (2) by reaction of alkali metal thioalkoxide with 1,4-bis (2-substituted-5-thienyl) -2,5-dihalobenzene obtained in Step (A).
