abstract PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a dithienobenzodithiophene derivative which is an organic semiconductor material which gives a high carrier mobility in a short process and a high yield using easily available raw materials. A method for producing a dithienobenzodithiophene derivative characterized by passing through at least the following steps (A) to (D). Step (A): 1,4-bis (2-substituted) by reaction of a 2-substituted-5-thienyl metal derivative with 1,2,4,5-tetrahalobenzene in the presence of a palladium catalyst and / or a nickel catalyst. -5-thienyl) -2,5-dihalobenzene production step. Step (B); 1,4-bis (2) by reaction of alkali metal thioalkoxide with 1,4-bis (2-substituted-5-thienyl) -2,5-dihalobenzene obtained in Step (A). A step of producing a substituted-5-thienyl) -2,5-bis (alkylsulfenyl) benzene; (C) Step; 1,4 by reacting the oxidizing agent with 1,4-bis (2-substituted-5-thienyl) -2,5-bis (alkylsulfenyl) benzene obtained in Step (B) A step of producing bis (2-substituted-5-thienyl) -2,5-bis (alkylsulfinyl) benzene; (D) Step; After treating 1,4-bis (2-substituted-5-thienyl) -2,5-bis (alkylsulfinyl) benzene obtained in Step (C) with an acid having a pKa of 2 or less, A step of producing a dithienobenzodithiophene derivative by subjecting it to a dealkylation reaction with an amine.
