An object of the present invention is to provide a method for preventing the formation of cracks in the production of a cylindrical molded body obtained by mechanical consolidation of a powdery aggregate and a method for producing an oxide tubular molded body. A filling chamber is disposed in a mold bore 2 that is guided through the mold material downward from the top by vertical bore axes B8, 9 to lower the upper punch 13 while maintaining the position of the lower punch 12. Alternatively, by further raising the lower punch 12, the axial start distance A of the two end faces along the bore axes B 8, 9 is reduced to a predetermined axial end distance E for consolidation, A method for producing a metal oxide tubular molded body in which powdered aggregate is mechanically consolidated.
