Disclosed is a peptide derivative (peptide or pseudopeptide) that crosses cell membranes and the blood-brain barrier (BBB) and facilitates the transport of diagnostic agents and drugs. A peptide containing a maximum of 30 amino acid residues exhibiting affinity for human low density riboprotein receptor (hLDLR). Derivatives of these peptides can be used as peptide vectors such as drug molecules, and can be used to promote crossing and transport across cell membranes by conjugating therapeutic molecules, imaging or diagnostic agents, or molecular probes.
