abstract | A coating composition and a coated steel sheet excellent in corrosion resistance and water resistance are provided. A coating composition for forming a rust-preventing coating on a steel sheet comprises a resin composition (I), a crosslinking agent (II), and a non-chromium rust-preventing pigment (III). (I) contains phosphoric acid group-containing epoxy resin (A) and amine-modified epoxy resin (B), and the total solid content of phosphoric acid group-containing epoxy resin (A) and amine-modified epoxy resin (B) is 100 parts by mass. In contrast, the solid content of the phosphoric acid group-containing epoxy resin (A) is 99 to 1 part by mass, and the non-chromium rust preventive pigment (III) is composed of vanadium pentoxide (C), Group 1 or Group 2. A compound (D) composed of a group metal element, wherein the compound (D) is selected from an oxide, hydroxide and carbonate of a metal composed of at least one selected from Na, Li, Ca and Mg The total solids of the resin composition (I) and the crosslinking agent (II). The total amount of vanadium pentoxide (C) and the compound (D) is 1 to 200 parts by mass with respect to 100 parts by mass of the form. [Selection figure] None |
