abstract |
A water-based inkjet printing ink containing nano-pigment or dye-like wax particles suitable for printing on different print media including coated paper, uncoated paper or plastic. An aqueous ink composition comprising an aqueous submicron colorant wax dispersion comprising a plurality of colorant wax particles comprising a colorant core surrounded by water, a co-solvent, and a shell of wax. The colorant wax particles exhibit a particle size distribution from about 150 nanometers to less than about 300 nanometers, and the aqueous submicron colorant wax dispersion melts and mixes the dry colorant and at least one wax. A water-based ink composition in which a colorant concentrate is formed and pulverized to form a pulverized colorant concentrate and combined with water and dispersed. [Selection figure] None |
