abstract |
A unit dose formulation of a factor Xa inhibitor antidote and methods of use thereof are provided. The present invention relates to a unit dose formulation of an antidote for an anticoagulant that targets factor Xa. Disclosed herein are methods for stopping or preventing bleeding in patients currently receiving anticoagulant therapy using a factor Xa inhibitor. In one embodiment, the invention provides a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier and a double-stranded polypeptide comprising the amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NO: 13, or a polypeptide having at least 80% homology to SEQ ID NO: 13 In a dosage of about 10 milligrams to about 2 grams.
