abstract |
It is an object of the present invention to provide an exhaust gas treatment apparatus and method that use both normal activated carbon and impregnated activated carbon to satisfactorily remove mercury and minimize the amount of impregnated activated carbon used. A bag filter device (4) for removing dust from an exhaust gas from a furnace (1) is provided, and an activated carbon supply device (3) for blowing the activated carbon into an exhaust gas passage for introducing the exhaust gas from the furnace (1) to the bag filter device (4) is provided. The supply device 3 includes a normal activated carbon supply device 3A that supplies normal activated carbon without an additive and an impregnated activated carbon supply device 3B that supplies an attached activated carbon to which an additive is attached, and an exhaust gas is provided at the outlet side of the bag filter device. A mercury concentration meter 5 for measuring the mercury concentration in the inside is provided, and the normal activated carbon supply device 3A and the attached activated carbon supply device 3B are respectively set so that the mercury concentration of the exhaust gas is set to a set value or less based on the measurement value by the mercury concentration meter 5.
