The present invention relates to a coated aluminum material including an aluminum material, an intervening layer, and a coating layer, which is manufactured by laminating sheet-shaped aluminum materials, or when the aluminum material is wound into a roll and manufactured in a band shape. However, the present invention provides a coated aluminum material in which the aluminum material and the coating layer are sufficiently adhered and a method for producing the coated aluminum material. A coating comprising an aluminum material, a coating layer formed on a surface of the aluminum material, and an intervening layer formed between the aluminum material and the coating layer and containing an aluminum element and a carbon element. (1) The intervening layer is formed in at least a partial region of the surface of the aluminum material and contains aluminum carbide, and (2) the coated aluminum material has an uneven portion on one side or both sides.
