titleOfInvention | Crystalline polymorph of 2,2'-bis (2-hydroxyethoxy) -1,1'-binaphthalene and process for producing the same |
abstract | A novel 2,2′-bis (2-hydroxyethoxy) -1,1′-binaphthalene crystal form that is suitable as a raw material monomer for various resins including optical resins and has excellent processability and productivity. And the production method thereof. [Solution] 2,2′-bis (2-hydroxy) from a solution in which 2,2′-bis (2-hydroxyethoxy) -1,1′-binaphthalene is dissolved using at least one solvent selected from aromatic hydrocarbons After crystallization of ethoxy) -1,1′-binaphthalene crystals, a part or all of the mother liquor obtained by solid-liquid separation is converted into 2,2′-bis (2-hydroxyethoxy) -1,1′-. By reusing as part of the binaphthalene crystallization solution and precipitating the crystals at a specific temperature, 2,2′-bis (2-hydroxyethoxy) -1,1′-binaphthalene having a novel crystal form is obtained. The present inventors have found that the above problem can be solved. [Selection figure] None |
