abstract PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a filter and a filter device including a charged hollow fiber membrane for use in a high throughput application, a method for manufacturing the charged hollow fiber membrane, and a method for using the same. A membrane having a porous bulk disposed between (i) an inner surface, (ii) an outer surface, (iii) an inner surface and an outer surface, and a) having a controlled pore size. A first set of pores having outer edges and b) a second set of pores connected to the outer edges of the first set of pores, wherein the pore diameter of the first set of pores is A pore comprising at least a first region comprising a second set of pores larger than the pore size of the second set of pores and c) a polymer matrix supporting the first set of pores.
