titleOfInvention Plugged honeycomb structure
abstract Provided is a plugged honeycomb structure having excellent durability against erosion caused by foreign matter. A porous honeycomb substrate 4 having partition walls 1 for partitioning a plurality of cells 2 extending from an inflow end surface 11 which is an end surface on the exhaust gas inflow side to an outflow end surface 12 which is an end surface on the exhaust gas outflow side. And at least one of the inflow end surface 11 side and the outflow end surface 12 side of the honeycomb base material 4, and a plugging portion 5 that plugs the end portions of the cells 2, and the inflow end surface 11 of the honeycomb base material 4. The plugged honeycomb structure 100 is configured such that the porosity P1 at least in part is lower than the porosity P2 in the central portion 16 in the cell 2 extending direction.
