abstract | To provide a gas generator having a simple configuration capable of more reliably ensuring airtightness between a housing and a resin molded portion. A gas generator includes a housing, an igniter, and a gas generating agent. The igniter is fixed to the bottom plate portion of the lower shell of the housing by a holding portion made of a resin molded portion. An elastic body is interposed between the bottom plate portion and the holding portion. By arranging the elastic body in a compressed and deformed state, an elastic force is generated from the elastic body toward the bottom plate portion and the holding portion, and the elastic body is brought into close contact with the bottom plate portion and the holding portion by the elastic force.
