abstract |
A method and apparatus for performing spatial frequency block coding (SFBC) in an orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) wireless communication system. The present invention is applicable to both closed loop and open loop. In the closed loop mode, power loading and eigenbeamforming are performed based on channel state information. The channel code data stream is multiplexed into two or more data streams. Power loading is performed based on the CSI on each multiplexed data stream. SFBC encoding is performed on the data stream for each set of subcarriers. Eigenbeamforming is performed based on CSI, and eigenbeams can be distributed to multiple transmit antennas. Power loading is performed on two or more SFBC encoding blocks or on each eigenmode. [Selection] Figure 1 |
