abstract PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress a part of a lead frame and a light-transmitting resin from being peeled off due to heat to cause a light distribution variation due to deterioration over time and to prevent a lead frame and a transparent resin from having a further sealing member. Provided are a light emitting device capable of preventing moisture and flux from entering from a gap between light-sensitive resin materials, and a method for manufacturing the same. A lead frame (2) includes a lead frame (2), a light emitting element (6) placed on a bottom surface (12a) of a recess (12) formed in the lead frame (2), and a translucent resin (8) covering the light emitting element (6). 4 includes a covering region 10 covered with the light-transmitting resin 8 and an exposed region 11 exposed from the light-transmitting resin 8, and the lead frame 2 and the light-transmitting property are formed on the inner surface 12 b of the recess 12. There is a gap larger than the main wavelength of the light from the light emitting element 6 between the resin 8 and the lead at the end of the covering region 10 located in or near the boundary with the exposed region 11 in the covering region 10. Provided are a light emitting device 20 in which a frame 2 and a translucent resin 8 are in close contact, and a method for manufacturing the same. [Selection] Figure 1
