abstract | The present invention provides an ink jet recording method capable of recording an image having excellent recording stability and excellent dryness and abrasion resistance. An ink jet recording method according to the present invention ejects droplets of a non-aqueous ink containing an organic solvent, a color material, and a resin from a nozzle of a recording head, and the droplets are recorded on a recording medium. An image forming step of forming an image by adhering, and a preliminary discharge step of discharging the non-aqueous ink droplets from the nozzles of the recording head, which is a preliminary discharge that is not a discharge for forming the image. The time interval for performing preliminary discharge from a predetermined nozzle in the preliminary discharge step is not less than 2 seconds and not more than 25 seconds, and the organic solvent is selected from hydrocarbon solvents, alcohol solvents, and ester solvents. The first solvent is at least one kind, and the content of the first solvent is 40% by mass or more based on the total mass of the non-aqueous ink. [Selection] Figure 1 |
