abstract | A polarizing plate capable of suppressing light leakage and a liquid crystal display device are provided. A light source side polarizing plate, a viewing side polarizing plate, and a liquid crystal cell disposed between these polarizing plates are provided. In the liquid crystal display device, at least one of the light source side polarizer protective film of the light source side polarizing plate or the viewer side polarizer protective film of the viewer side polarizing plate satisfies the following condition A, and the liquid crystal cell side polarized light of the light source side polarizing plate A liquid crystal display device in which at least one of the child protective film or the liquid crystal cell side polarizer protective film of the viewing side polarizing plate satisfies the following condition B. Condition A: The difference between the heat shrinkage rate in the +45 degree direction with respect to the film flow direction and the heat shrinkage rate in the -45 degree direction with respect to the film flow direction is 0.4% or less.
