abstract | A fast reactor core capable of increasing the Doppler effect, which is essential for the safety design of a nuclear reactor core and is an immediate negative feedback reactivity accompanying a temperature rise of the core, is provided. A core of a fast reactor according to the present invention has a metal fuel using a transuranium element containing plutonium recovered in a nuclear fuel recycling process as a fuel material and zirconium as a base material (diluent). . The core of this fast reactor has a neutron resonance absorption cross section in a high neutron energy region of about 1 keV or more, and the temperature dependent effect (Doppler effect) of the absorption cross section is a natural element that is equal to or greater than that of zirconium.
