PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a gel-like potassium detergent that hardly changes in temperature. SOLUTION: When producing potassium soap by reacting a fatty acid and a potassium compound in a reaction vessel, the reaction vessel contains polyethylene glycol having two fatty acids in one molecule such as polyethylene glycol distearate and polyethylene glycol dilaurate.
