abstract |
An electric double layer capacitor that operates well at 3.8 V or higher is provided. An electric double layer capacitor includes a polarizable electrode made of a carbon material containing fibrous carbon such as carbon nanotubes, and an electrolyte using a mixture of a sulfolane compound and a chain sulfone as a solvent, and sandwiches a separator. The polarizable electrode is impregnated with the electrolytic solution and sealed with a container.
