Methods and compositions for Alzheimer's disease comprising proteins that are differentially expressed in Alzheimer's disease compared to normal conditions. In addition, methods, particularly experimental paradigms, are provided for the identification of differentially expressed proteins that are potential molecular targets for compounds for treating or preventing Alzheimer's disease. Also provided are methods for identifying compounds and their therapeutic use for the prevention and treatment of Alzheimer's disease. Proteins present in a sample are established using two-dimensional gel electrophoresis or SELDI analysis performed on the relevant tissue or its protein-containing extract. [Selection figure] None |
