abstract |
Provided are a sulfur compound desulfurization method and a desulfurization apparatus for a fuel capable of efficiently desulfurizing sulfur compounds in desulfurization of sulfur compounds using ozone. SOLUTION: A sulfur compound in a fuel is desulfurized by adding mesoporous silica carrying an oxidation catalyst to a reaction tank 12 and adding a fuel containing a sulfur compound, and generating it by an ozone generator 14. By supplying the generated ozone into the reaction vessel 12 through the ozone supply line 16, the sulfur compound and ozone are reacted in the presence of mesoporous silica carrying an oxidation catalyst to oxidize the sulfur compound to sulfur oxide.
