titleOfInvention System and method for providing a tunable optical parametric oscillator laser system providing dual frequency output for nonlinear vibrational spectroscopy and microscopy
abstract An analysis system that is more efficient and economical in a CARS microscope method or a spectroscopy system is provided. A system for providing a first electromagnetic field and a second electromagnetic field to a vibration analysis instrument responsive to a difference between a first frequency of a first electromagnetic field and a second frequency of a second electromagnetic field is disclosed. The system includes a nonlinear crystal that may be pumped at a high repetition rate to provide a pulsed signal field at a signal field frequency and a pulsed idler field at an idler field frequency as outputs. The signal electric field provides a first electromagnetic field and the idler electric field provides a second electromagnetic field. The system also includes a tuning system that allows the difference between the signal field frequency and the idler field frequency to be changed. The system also includes an output unit that provides the first and second electromagnetic fields to the vibration analysis instrument. [Selection] Figure 1
