abstract |
An ESD protection device in which ESD characteristics are unlikely to deteriorate is provided. An ESD protection device includes a ceramic insulating material, first and second discharge electrodes, a discharge auxiliary portion, and a protective layer. The first and second discharge electrodes 21 and 22 are provided on the ceramic insulating material 10. The discharge auxiliary portion 51 is disposed between the distal end portion of the first discharge electrode 21 and the distal end portion of the second discharge electrode 22. The discharge auxiliary part 51 is an electrode that reduces the discharge start voltage between the first discharge electrode 21 and the second discharge electrode 22. The discharge auxiliary part 51 is made of a sintered body including conductive particles and at least one of semiconductor particles and insulating particles. The protective layer 52 includes at least one of a semiconductor material constituting semiconductor particles and an insulating material constituting insulating particles. [Selection] Figure 1 |
