The key issues associated with current sustainable bio-based resin designs have been hot offset temperature (HOT) and gloss mottle temperature in fusion performance. Bio-based resins and toners designed to optimize HOT and mottle temperature in fusing performance are provided. A bio-resin has a toner surface carbon to oxygen (C / O) ratio lower than that of a conventional toner resin.
