abstract Provided is an intermediate transfer belt manufacturing method that has high conveyance stability with respect to high-speed driving of an intermediate transfer belt and can maintain conveyance stability over a long period of time. In a method of manufacturing an intermediate transfer belt having a single layer or two or more layers in which an innermost layer of an intermediate transfer belt is made of a rubber or resin material containing a urethane group, (i) the innermost layer of the intermediate transfer belt is formed. And (ii) a back surface roughening step for adjusting the surface roughness Ra of the back surface to 0.2 to 0.4 μm when the back surface of the innermost layer of the intermediate transfer belt is the back surface. (Iii) A method for producing an intermediate transfer belt, comprising at least a back surface impregnation step of impregnating the back surface of the intermediate transfer belt with an isocyanate compound.
